Today I welcome TC Collins to the blog. Rayne’s Temptation is now available for sale. Yay!

I’ve got all kinds of goodies for you, courtesy of TC. An excerpt and a character interview! Hope you enjoy! The buy links are below as well.

Blurb:

Rayne Thurston has just left an abusive relationship, and the only thing he wants to do is live a peaceful life. But his new job is anything but peaceful. Rayne’s boss, Colin Edwards, is always on his case and to top it off, Rayne finds himself attracted to the powerful businessman. As the two fight the attraction between them, danger stalks Rayne. Will the two be able to overcome their differences to find their happily ever after?

Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt:

Strong hands grabbed Rayne’s waist and pulled him back into a tall, RaynesTemptation.jpgmuscular chest. “You look so damn sexy. It makes me want to fuck you in front of everyone and show them who you belong to,” a husky voice whispered in his ear.

Rayne jumped, his heart thundering. It was Colin! He tried to turn, but the hands gripping him kept him in place. Looking up, Rayne gasped. Colin’s dark hair fell across his eyebrows. Jade-colored eyes were hot enough to scorch the Sahara desert. The steady beat from the music and Colin’s body leading his in a slow, provocative dance melted any resistance Rayne had.

He’d promised himself tonight was about fun. Why should he deny himself the pleasure of indulging in his secret fantasy? Monday would take care of itself, but tonight Rayne was going to follow the sexy CEO all the way to the end.

Losing himself in the music and Colin’s wandering hands, Rayne melted against the body behind him. Colin plastered himself to Rayne’s body, grinding his stiff cock against Rayne’s ass. Rayne shuddered and pushed back against Colin, enjoying the strong arms that embraced him. He’d never felt so sexy before. Colin was awakening feelings in him he’d never experienced before, and he wanted more. Continue reading “New Release: Rayne’s Temptation”

Latest Read: The English Assassin

While at Politics & Prose in D.C., I picked up The English Assassin by Daniel Silva. The book immediately caught my interest, and even though it is book #2 in the series, I decided I’d give it a try (P&P didn’t have book 1).

I have to say that I had no issue following the story without having read The Kill Artist so don’t worry if you find yourself in the same boat as me.

BlurbThe_English_Assassin

The Unlikely Spy, Daniel Silva’s extraordinary debut novel, was applauded by critics as it rocketed onto natio
nal bestseller lists. Now Silva has outdone himself, with a taut, lightning-paced thriller rooted assuredly in fact: Switzerland’s shameful WWII record of profiteering and collaboration with Nazi Germany.

When art restorer and occasional Israeli agent Gabriel Allon is sent to Zurich, Switzerland, to restore the painting of a reclusive millionaire banker, he arrives to find his would-be employer murdered at the foot of his Raphael. A secret collection of priceless, illicitly gained Impressionist masterpieces is missing. Gabriel’s handlers step out of the shadows to admit the truth-the collector had been silenced-and Gabriel is put back in the high-stakes spy game, battling wits with the rogue assassin he helped to train.

Tense, taut, expertly crafted, and brimming with unexpected reversals, The English Assassin is Daniel Silva at his storytelling best.

* * *

Don’t be intimidated by the length…you will be intrigued from the start and have no problems getting to page 437. Gabriel Allon is a likable hero. He’s had a tragic past and now works his butt off as a part-time spy and part-time art restorer. He is savvy and smart and totally dedicated to his work.  Continue reading “Latest Read: The English Assassin”

A Political Thriller: Executive Actions

Executive_ActionsLast night I stayed up late to finish Executive Actions by Gary Grossman. I had to know how it ended…and I’m happy to say that Mr. Grossman did not disappoint. In fact, I’m already looking forward to starting Executive Treason, the next book in the series.

Blurb:

An assassin takes aim at a Presidential candidate during a primary stump speech. The instant he pulls the trigger, the outcome of the election is irrevocably changed. But Democrat Teddy Lodge, an upcoming media sweetheart, isn’t killed. His wife is. As a result, Lodge emerges as the man to beat and the greatest threat to the incumbent President, Morgan Taylor. Under a specific directive from the President, Special Service Agent Scott Roarke delves into the case and begins to unravel a deadly plot that incubated for more than 30 years; designed to alter America’s allegiances in the Middle East.

From the very first page, Executive Actions culls events from today’s headlines intersecting with a scenario that’s shockingly real: An insidious plot hatched in the old days of the Soviet Union continues to grow to fruition in the hands of a power hungry Middle East heir to the throne. At its core, a sleeper is awakened to take a prominent role in American Life.

Executive Actions is a tense political thriller; an election year page-turner, where both the Presidency and the Constitution are at stake.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I did have some minor issues (see below), but they weren’t significant enough to make me stop. Even though the book was well over 500 pages, I had no problem getting to the end. Yes, there were parts that required some suspension of disbelief, but I liked the characters. Scott Roarke and Morgan Taylor definitely stole the show. Well, later on, Katie was right there with them. And yes, Teddy ended up being quite the savvy bad guy. I have to say I never really disliked him either. His adviser. Oh yeah. That guy–Neuman—was creepy! Continue reading “A Political Thriller: Executive Actions”

Latest Read: Retribution

Title:  Retribution (Will PRetributionarker #1)

Author:  Anderson Harp.

Genre:  Political/ International Thriller

It’s a whopping 528 pages!! (Don’t worry, those pages go by quickly!)

Blurb:

The remote and impenetrable Pakistani mountains have offered refuge to the worst enemies of civilization since the time of Alexander. Now, the world faces a new challenge. Reared from birth to harbor a seething hatred, a lone man is about to unleash a firestorm that will rage for centuries. And the window of opportunity to stop him is shutting much faster than Washington D.C. can hope to deal with.

***

I’m going to break down my thoughts on this book into two areas: Plot and Character.

First, the plot rocked! It definitely reminded me of a Tom Clancy thriller. Short chapters, lots of POVs, tons of action, and some mystery. The story is right out of today’s headlines. It kept me interested, and I didn’t have any trouble following the story line. Many times I found myself wanting to read on to find out what happens next. Continue reading “Latest Read: Retribution”

Is Judd Ryker the next Jack Ryan?

Last month, I got to meet author Todd Moss, who was speaking at Politics and Prose in Washington D.C. I have to say that I’m so happy I did. That day I purchased both of his Judd Ryker books. He even signed Minute Zero for me.

It took me very little time to read both books. I couldn’t put either one of them down! If you’re looking for a political thriller filled with mystery and action that is set in Africa, look no further than Todd’s books. And, to finally answer the question posed in my blog title, yes. Yes, I would say that Judd Ryker is the State Department’s Jack Ryan (I’m a huge of Tom Clancy’s early books featuring Jack Ryan so I feel qualified to make the comparison—in my humble opinion, of course!) He’s crafty and intelligent, and not afraid to go to great lengths to prove his theories…all the while helping the good guys come out on top.

The Golden Hour

Blurb:

The Golden Hour: In international politics, the hundred hours following a coup, when there is still a chance that diplomacy, a secret back channel, military actionsomethingmight reverse the chain of events.

As the top American diplomat for West Africa, Todd Moss saw a great deal about how diplomacy and politics actually work. But as he shows us, the results aren’t always pretty. Continue reading “Is Judd Ryker the next Jack Ryan?”

Top Ten Tuesday: Wolf/ Shifter Romance Reads

This week’s theme for Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie—the blogger gets to choose the topic. I’ve been reading a lot of PNR lately so I wanted something along those lines. I checked out some of the lists on Goodreads and got my idea.

I’m doing a Top Ten of the Best Wolf/ Shifter Books that I’ve read (most of these, if not all, are going to be romance).

toptentuesday

Be sure to stop by The Broke and the Bookish…see what others have chosen.

What are your thoughts? Have you read any of these?? (By the way, they are listed in no particular order.)

Top Ten Tuesday Wolf/ Shifter (Romance) Reads

  1. Moon Called (Mercy Thompson #1)  by Patricia Briggs. Mercy shifts into a coyote in this series. There are also a host of paranormal characters, too.
  2. Bitten (Women of the Otherworld #1) by Kelley Armstrong. In this series, Elena Michaels is a werewolf.
  3. Magic Bites (Kate Daniels #1) by Ilona Andrews. Can’t skip over Curran, the mighty lion shifter!
  4. Pride Mates (Shifters Unbound #1) by Jennifer Ashley. Liam’s the shifter in this book, and wouldn’t you know I don’t remember his animal?? Someone help me out here, please 🙂 I want to say cats, but I’m not sure.
  5. How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf #1) by Molly Harper. This was very entertaining, and obviously, the title tells you the kind of shifter. LOL
  6. Nightshade (Nightshade #1) by Andrea Creamer. More wolves in this one.
  7. Bear Necessities (Halle Shifters #1) by Dana Marie Bell. If you guessed bears, you’d be right!

  9. The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld #1) by Gena Showalter. Maddox isn’t technically a shifter, but he is filled with a demon. Hopefully that’s close enough to count!
