In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Safe inside, toasty warm, while water pitter-patters on the roof… describe your perfect, rainy afternoon.
I’m going to assume this is the “perfect” fall or winter rainy afternoon. If it was a summer rainy afternoon, I’d be curled up on the porch swing, reading and napping. The sound of the rain on the roof would be rather relaxing. Ahh…my parents have a decent size back porch. I recall spending several rainy summer afternoons out there as a child. Whether we were sketching or coloring in coloring books, we had fun being outside, but staying dry.

For a rainy afternoon this time of year…well, I’d be lounging on the couch either reading or watching Netflix. I’d be wrapped up in a cozy fleece throw and sipping hot tea. Chances are my cat would either be laying next to me or on the top of the sofa napping (you know how kitties love to be up high!). I have skylights in my house, and I enjoy the sound of the rain hitting them. Hail, not so much. But, overall, it would be a very peaceful and relaxing experience.
