Where to start…cause Lord knows we’re all busy. I was hoping to have this post up much earlier in the day. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it (as I’m sure you can tell)!
My friend and fellow Wednesday Briefer, Elyzabeth M. Valey, nominated me as part of this blog hop. Be sure to stop by her blog here and check out her character interview 🙂
Avery’s character for this interview is Carson Davis. He is featured in her upcoming release, Fall Break Fright. The release date is September 23rd – be sure to stay tuned for more teasers about the story.
I have to confess that it took some arm twisting to get Carson to agree to this interview. Being a “busy” college student, Carson claimed that he had too much studying and too many papers looming to possibly meet with me. *cough* *big, hacking cough*
When I called on him that – he may be studying, but the subject of said studying was surely his new roommate, Tyler – Carson clammed up and promptly hung up on me. It took several email exchanges, but we were finally able to come to terms. I have to confess that I totally got the short end of the stick. Carson wanted the questions in advance, and he told me the interview would conclude with even a hint about Tyler. (If I’m reading Carson right, he’s really into Tyler. I may have to do some digging on this Tyler fellow.) I also owe him a gift card to Sephora. No, I will not be revealing the amount of the gift card. Carson is sworn to secrecy on that as well so don’t even try to get to him . . . Continue reading “Character Interview: Carson Davis”
Hey everyone! Today I’m hosting L.M. Brown, who introduces us to Kyle and her release, Forbidden Waters, a paranormal/ fantasy novel. Enjoy – the premise is very cool!
Kyle is a merman who has lived a nomadic life. He and his clan spend their lives travelling through the oceans searching for warm waters and safety for the youngsters. Unfortunately the oceans of the world are filled with predators and a devastating shark attack changes his life forever.
Even though Kyle was raised to take his father’s place as leader of their clan, he is unprepared for the responsibility that goes along with the position. It falls to him to make the decision about what is best for the clan and even though it means giving up on love, Kyle knows Atlantis is the only safe option for the vulnerable of the clan.
For Kyle Atlantis isn’t so safe. As a homosexual merman he is forbidden to take a lover, something which he knows will be difficult when the mating season arrives and he craves the feeling of being taken by another man.
Of course there are options for Kyle, and one of those is Prince Finn, the rebellious young heir to the Atlantean throne, and a merman who makes it quite clear he is attracted to the newcomer to the city.
Released from his obligations of leading his clan, Kyle takes up the post of bodyguard to Prince Finn, even though he knows the young heir will be tempting him at every opportunity.
Making new friends amongst the Atlantean mer people, Kyle doesn’t realise his affection for the prince is also earning him enemies. There are those who will do everything to prevent his coming together with the prince, include banishing him from all the oceans of the world, a fate that could be considered worse than death for a merman.
To save his clan from ever-increasing shark attacks, merman Kyle seeks sanctuary for his people in the sunken city of Atlantis, even though he knows that as a homosexual merman, he will be sacrificing his own chance for love. Love finds him anyway in the form of Prince Finn, the rebellious young heir to the Atlantean throne.
When their relationship is discovered, Kyle is the one to pay the price. Banished from the oceans, he seeks shelter in England and finds a new love with human, Jake Seabrook.
For Jake, Kyle is the chance to move on from the crush he has on his straight best friend. The strange man he found naked on the beach seems to fit into his life with ease. If only Kyle weren’t keeping secrets from him, Jake could see them having a future together.
Things are not what they seem for either of the men and when Kyle discovers the truth about Finn, he knows he must return to Atlantis.
Three men, a tangled relationship, and one chance for happiness—if they can trust enough to take it. Continue reading “Forbidden Waters”
Welcome to another week of Tease Me Thursday! The rules are simple (in case you aren’t familiar). Show us your 7 – 7 words, 7 sentences, or seven paragraphs. Tease us all the way into the weekend! Everybody ready? *wink*
Avery had grand plans to share a scene from one of her WIPs. That, however, isn’t going to happen – sorry! Too many obligations and not enough time. Don’t you hate when real life cuts into writing??
So, this will be a M-F teaser from Denise’s story, Latin Heat.
Here is a brief description of the story to give you some background. The teaser (found below) is a bit of a spoiler so fair warning *sly grin*
Broken-hearted Simone Blackburn escapes to a beautiful Caribbean paradise to forget her cheating ex-husband and finds herself face-to-face with the one thing she hoped to avoid: an available, sexy, and handsome man.
The teaser begins after Simone and Roberto have just shared a romantic dinner at Roberto’s home. He has a surprise planned for her – a special fireworks show. Well, this teaser should get you steamy and leave you wanting more! Continue reading “Tease Me Thursday #24”
Hey everyone! I want to welcome Jon Keys to my blog today. He’s going to be talking about his new release, Showstring.
Hello Denise! Thanks so much for letting me visit. But this is Ben, not Jon. I took over Jon’s blog hop. I had so much fun at the first interview that I talked Jon into letting me do them all. It really didn’t take too much to convince him though, Jon’s kind of an old softie at heart. I promised him I’d stay on top of things. I think he’s hiding somewhere with the A/C cranked writing something new. I told him we could go horseback riding, but he didn’t seem too interested. I’ll get him talked into it though.
In Showstring Jayden told the story of how the two of us met. At least his version. It’s coming out as part of the Rode Hard anthology from Torquere Press. It’s kinda different since we met at the fair. But it’s still a cool story. Jayden is a city kid with a big heart but a lot to learn about life.
This is the last of the blog hops, so I thought I’d share my perfect guy with you. He’d be a good guy, someone who makes you feel good to be with. I wouldn’t ever need to worry about someone having my back. They’d need to have a sense of humor. Yup, a sense of humor is really important. It’s good to be able to laugh at stuff.
My type? Well Jayden is pretty close to everything I like in a guy. He’s tall and slender, which I like. The curly blond hair is a big turn on too. His skin is really light and I love it when we are all tangled together. It’s also cute when he gets embarrassed, his cheeks get so freakin’ red. Yeah, Jayden is way hot.
So pretty simple, cute blond with a sense of humor. LOL! Well Jon is motioning for me to wrap it up, so thanks again and I hope everyone enjoys Showstring.
~ Ben ~
Jayden Laine has spent his life in the city, dreaming of cowboys and cattle ranches. He looks forward to each fall when his life is
exchanged for his dreams when the state fair opens.
This year when he steps into the barns he’s greeted by the sights he’s come to see, and one additional sight of Ben Ramos fighting to move a two-thousand pound bull that’s decided he doesn’t want to move. What happens next starts a juggernaut of emotions in Jayden that turn his world upside down. Now all he has to do is reevaluate his entire life and decide who to believe. And he has only a few days to do it.
I’ve been on a reading spree of late. I finished watching Burn Notice (for the second time), The Glades (what was up with the ending?!), and Teen Wolf (season 1 for I don’t know how many times) so I’ve been glued to my Kindle.
I started reading A Hunted Man yesterday and I finished reading it just before midnight. Yeah, I was up a bit past my bedtime! This is the second read in The Men of Halfway House series. Although I like Mark and Julian, I really liked this story – Cam and Hunter rocked!!
After surviving ten years in prison, Cameron Pierce is attempting to put the past behind him. He tries to adjust to his newfound freedom with a place at the halfway house and a job. But one lesson he learned in prison keeps him guarded: hope is a dangerous thing.
Hunter Donovan, Assistant State Attorney, is a man of justice who loves a challenge. After a lifetime of putting his career first, a milestone brings him to a harsh realization—he’s lonely.
Hunter’s world changes when he meets Cam. The wary young man intrigues him and awakens a desire unlike anything he’s ever experienced. When Cam’s past resurfaces and threatens to rip them apart, their budding relationship is challenged and Cam’s hope for a future begins to dim.
These outside forces hunting Cam will stop at nothing to send him back to prison. But they’ll have to get past Hunter first.
So, you may have noticed that I’ve been oddly silent this week. Well, there’s a very good reason for that … Continue reading Vacation Week in Review
