The Next Big Thing

Thanks to my friend Lesley Conner for asking me to participate in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop. I participated a couple of weeks ago as my alter ego and had a blast. Below are the questions! Hope you have fun reading my answers!

What is the working title of your book? To clarify, this is a short story. The working title is Wild Horses.

Where did the idea come from for the book? A writing prompt (of all places, right?). It is an app that I have on my phone. Was well worth the money as it has provided lots of inspiration.

What genre does your book fall under? Romance (the sweet kind!)

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? Tough one – can I pick Julia Roberts, but she needs to be the age she was in Pretty Woman?? Same deal with the male star. I would like Ben Affleck, but he needs to be the age he was in Sum of All Fears.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Can Jonathan, a single dad, teach lonely coffee shop owner Georgia to open her heart to love?

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? I’ve got my fingers crossed that Books to Go Now will select it for their Valentine’s Day Anthology.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? It is still in progress; although, I wrote the bulk of it in one afternoon. That was some roll!! Wish those happened all the time! LOL

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Yeah, I’m not so much with the comparison. Next…

Who or What inspired you to write this book? A friend told me about the anthology opportunity. It sounded like fun. I turned to the prompt when I struggled to find writing inspiration. The rest (from there) is history!

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? My male character, Jonathan, has an absolutely adorable four-year old son. Also, the story is set in the Albuquerque/ Santa Fe area of New Mexico.
